Teacher Training: 2013–2014

We are very excited to offer a 200-hour teacher training. If you are interested in becoming a teacher or simply deepening your practice this could be the program for you. The first semester module is comprised of 100 hours and the second also 100 hours, take them both and you will have your training. Included in your training: in depth study of ethics, asana, anatomy, philosophy, pranayama, practice teaching, feedback on your teaching, hands on adjustments, business of being a yoga teacher, restorative yoga, select readings, special guest teachers (in addition to the wonderful Jaya teachers—Carla, Sarah, Kyle, Christine, Ramit…) and the list goes on. For the duration of the program you will be able to take unlimited classes at both of Jaya’s studios.
The Jaya teacher training program is simply amazing. If you are looking to deepen your practice, the months of study, discussion, and loving guidance will lead your mind, body, and heart down an amazing path of discovery. If your goal is to become a yoga teacher, Jaya’s program will prepare you to get a job in a competitive market. Jaya’s training is incredibly well-rounded, with a number of specialized workshops complimenting the rich core curriculum. Anatomy, chanting, dealing with injuries, adjustments, pre-natal yoga, sequencing, music, LOTS of practice teaching…I’m a new teacher with a lot to learn still, but because of the breadth and depth of this program I feel confident that I can offer a fun, safe, and joyful practice to whoever comes to my classes. Even though there are a number of large, well-regarded teacher training programs where I live (West Hartford, CT), since graduating from Jaya I am now on the regular schedule at two studios in the area.
