Judy Atrubin is a certified Yoga Instructor and Integrative Therapist with a degree in psychology and specialized experience in addictions research. Judy started practicing yoga in 1997 and then trained with and received her initial 500 hour teaching certification from Alan Finger and Be Yoga in 2001. Judy continues to study and deepen her practice with Rodney Yee, Alison West, Schuyler Grant and other great teachers in New York and beyond. Judy discovered Jaya Yoga and all it’s great teachers and community and started practicing and teaching at Jaya in 2002. She is so happy to call Jaya her yoga home.
Judy teaches yoga classes and workshops in New York City, nationally and internationally. Her classes, which range from strong and sweat-filled to sweet and gentle all combine alignment based asana (poses), breathing, great music and philosophy. Judy also teaches group and one on one therapeutic classes geared towards people with and recovering from illness and injury.
Judy studied Integrative Therapy with the Urban Zen Foundation, from whom she received her 500-hour certification in 2009. At Urban Zen learned from great teachers and leaders in the fields of medicine, contemplative care, nutrition, yoga therapy, essential oil therapy, meditation and Reiki.
Judy works as an Integrative Therapist at hospitals and in private practice. She works in oncology, surgical pre and post-op and pediatrics as well as other departments. She also designs and leads relaxation sessions for doctors, nurses, techs and other hospital staff.
