Clare first came to Yoga while poring over Swami Vishnudevananda’s “The Complete Illustrated Book of Yoga” as a young child, and took her first group class years later while studying Theatre at Vassar College. Yoga continued to remain a steady movement practice to supplement acting and later martial arts, but it wasn’t until some time after finding Jaya in 2010 that she became completely devoted to the practice. In 2014, she graduated from the Jaya 200 hr teacher training program. As a teacher, her focus is on breath awareness and using the breath as anchor through a challenging and creative vinyasa flow. Her intention is to provide students with a safe space to explore their individual practice. As a cancer survivor, Clare has been deeply affected by the healing aspects of Yoga and hopes to continue her studies in order to share the practice with other survivors. Clare has also trained in Kyokushin Karate under Sensei Hiro Iwata, achieving 1st Kyu. She wishes to thank Carla, Ramit, and all Jaya teachers for their wonderful jnana and bhakti, and is extremely grateful to be part of the beautiful Jaya sangha.
